Republican Michelle Yi, who helps with press operations for the state House Majority Office, says good-bye today to head to West Virginia to work on the special election for governor.
Yi joined Speaker Frank McNulty’s crew earlier this year after working as the finance director for the Colorado Republican Party. She writes:
I accepted a gig to be the communications director for Bill Maloney, Republican nominee for governor in the special election in West Virginia. The election is on October 4 and this special election is the result of Gov. Joe Manchin being elected in the middle of his term to Sen. Robert Byrd’s seat after he passed away.
The Colorado House Republicans and Speaker of the House rock and its no reflection upon them that I need to leave so early. The reason for the sudden departure has everything to do with the fact that the election is just over 100 days away.
I’m excited for the opportunity and what lies ahead.
I begin my 23-hour drive on Saturday morning. Let me know if you have any recommendations for books on tape.
How about The Audacity of Hope?
Left running the press operation is McNulty’s other flak/spinner/invaluable resource, Owen Loftus, who earlier worked on Ken Buck’s U.S. Senate campaign.
